How to Be confident Whatever the Situation

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

How to be confident even when you may not feel particularly strong comes down to the way that you treat and feel about yourself. Many people let the words and thoughts of others dictate how confident and approachable you are when in truth the only person who has the right to dictate how you feel is yourself. Self talk, image and focus will be dependable keys to ensuring that you can maintain confidence even if under pressure and even attack. By being prepared for the best and worse any situation has to offer you will not be thrown off by an unexpected result or circumstance.

How you feel as well as how confident you feel will be highly dependent on how you feel about yourself. So if you wake up in the morning look in the mirror and say negative things to yourself then you are not setting yourself up for a rewarding day. Instead if you approach your day as a new challenge that you are ready and prepared to take on then you will see major differences surrounding the way you cope with a tough situation. Feeling good when you want is based on how you feel about yourself and obviously not all people feel good all the time so when you are feeling low deal with it before a situation arises.

Self consciousness can be the greatest detriment to self esteem and confidence. You need to beat self consciousness to adequately prepare and cope so that when a situation arises you are in control confident and secure that you will be ok. Self consciousness is the little voice inside which questions how beautiful, motivated and equipped you are to tackle each day. Stop self conscious talk before it begins, choose from the start of the day how you will feel and stick to it. Learning to be positive when no-one else can cope is a sure fire way to gain confidence and trust so by taking a deep breathe and telling yourself that you can do anything. You will be at ease.

Undue criticism is hard to handle at the best of times and while you will need to identify the difference between constructive criticism and undue insult it is important for the sake of your confidence that you do not allow silly or hurtful comments from others affect the overall way that you feel about yourself. When the words of others are unhelpful and hurtful this is abuse and is not to be tolerated. Remove yourself from people who cannot offer helpful useful criticisms. We all a touch of reality and growth but don’t take undue criticism.

In the even that you have prepared to your best ability, broken each task into steps and loved yourself silly all morning, in some situations especially in a group setting even the most confident person can succumb to pressure so it is important when in a difficult situation that you have a back up plan. This will be the best way for you to stay calm in a sticky situation without making a fool of yourself or others. One of the most effective ways that I have had suggested to me is when feeling under pressure to focus on the importance of the situation. Not in the sense that if you mess up its all over, because those thought will be detrimental but to remember the excitement and potential of the situation. Remind yourself why you went in the first place and this should be enough to get you through, other tips are deep breathing and a quick visualization to keep you bouncing till you can re-strategize at a later stage. How to have Confidence and Enjoy Every Moment of It

Monday, July 16th, 2007

Confidence is not only a skill it is a choice. How to have confidence? It is a choice to walk, talk and act with confidence despite how you feel or what others say. To have confidence is to be at ease in any situation. To be prepared and capable to take all the hits as they come and still smile while doing it. The beauty of confidence is that if you don’t have to possess it to walk with it. All you need is the know how and a bit of perseverance to make sure that in all instances you can appear to be cool calm collected and confident. This will show that you can cope under pressure and attract responsibility and promotion. When you act in confidence it is attracted to you.

As shallow as it sounds presentation and looking after you are important factors to having confidence. If you know that you are eating right, exercising regularly and treating your body and mind with respect and dignity. When you do have a bad day it is easier to overcome. Ensuring that your immediate needs of shelter, warmth, hygiene and even what you wear can effect how you feel and therefore affect the was you eventually act. If you are dressed well and feel like you are well presented you are less likely to suffer from a lack of confidence. This will not always help but the foundation needs to be strong for a building to stand so look after yourself and you will find the benefits surprising.

Once you have your exterior covered well your body language is the next thing to be addressed. Are there certain people who you naturally want to hide around or those who you feel intimidated by therefore close your body language up? Your body language will always tell the story of how you feel even if your words don’t so make sure that you have open body language to show optimum confidence. Shoulders straight, eyes looking forward or directed towards who you are speaking to, do not fold arms across your chest and try not o shuffle your feet, keep hand movement directed towards what you are doing and resist the temptation to fidget or fiddle while talking or listening.

One of the simplest ways to show that you have confidence is to show interest. There is of course no point in being interested if you cannot be genuine and sincere so be sure that your body language and eyes are actively listening, ask questions and try to interact within the situation. This can help relieve pressure as you will be occupied and active. By showing interest you are showing that you have the ability to concentrate on a project that may not be your own. Again by acting in a certain way you are creating positive behaviors within yourself, further gaining skills as well as having confidence.

By having a can do attitude both with yourself and with others, you will become a more social and interesting person. If you believe that you can do anything that you have the skills to achieve and you have goals in place to do so then you have no reason to walk in shame. To walk in confidence to hold your head and know that you can tackle anything that comes to you because you area good person and because you deserve good things will make the difference between having confidence or not. If you don’t believe you are confident you won’t be so change the way you think and your actions will have no choice but to change in time you will realize that you had confidence all along, you just didn’t know it yet. How to manage increasing confidence

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

There is no right or wrong way to manage increasing confidence though there are some more useful ways than others to best evaluate and track your progress or that of someone else and with a few simple tools and ideas you will be able to effectively track, manage and be proud of your increasing confidence. How to mange increasing confidence basically comes from balancing, evaluating and analyzing changes that you or someone has made and watching this progress to ensure development and growth are proving useful and fruitful. This is also a great way for people who are suffering from depression or lack of self esteem to track progress and remain focused and excited about goals.

Keeping a journal or log book which outlines the progress of your goals and increasing confidence can be greatly effective as it allows for better management of the process. You may be succeeding well in growth with people skills yet when you are faced with an authority figure your legs still turn to jelly. By recognizing successes early you can gain insight and a sense of achievement but you also get the chance to see where you can better develop and further grow in your confidence.

Find someone to help or guide you with your goals. It is harder to be accountable to your success if you are only letting yourself down. It is important that the person you choose does not intimidate or have authority over you. To effectively develop and increase confidence it is important that you have a supportive and guiding influence to help keep you accountable. Even just having someone to talk to at the end of each day or week to help you better evaluate and establish where you are making improvements and where you still need help and support for improvement.

Clearly instigate protocols and deadlines so that you have clear and realistic goals as well as a step by step way to get there. When it comes to your confidence and self- esteem the only person that can truly effectively instigate long term change is you, but when the people around you begin to notice you will be able to aptly help them because of the ground work you initiated in the beginning. Protocols will help you to overcome situations where you usually would have reacted emotively. Often when we act out of fear rather than reason we are acting in a lack of confidence so by implementing a system a little more reliable than emotions you will see major improvements in how you react in situations you normally would have struggled.

Lastly it is important that you are rewarded and feeling positive about the changes and improvement you are making within your life. Once you have reached each of your milestones make sure that you are appropriately rewarded whether by yourself or by someone else. Rewards are a good way to encourage positive behaviors while it is important that you know that negative behaviors are not to be overlooked by addressed at the next available moment to ensure that you are not losing progress or digressing with your increasing confidence.

How to manage increasing confidence effectively can make the difference between the success and failure of your attempt. You need to be around supportive, healthy and inspiring people while it is also good to keep in mind where you have come from, keep track of your progress as something to be proud of. Increasing confidence can change your life its up to you how much.
